Meet the owner, beth little
Beth, our owner and trainer, has been training dogs professionally for 4 years. Her love for dogs growing up, obsession for competitive dog sports, and seeing close relationships with dogs and their owners lead her to the study of dog training. After learning under some of the best trainers in the country and training in various settings (including facility, in-home, shadow programs, as well as virtual coaching), dog training became her passion and she decided to give up her corporate career to devote her time to the craft. She specializes in precision and relationship based training. Beth has worked with hundreds of dogs and their owners with a wide variety of needs and temperaments.
And yes! ‘Live A Little’ is a play on Beth’s last name. Her family has a long history of dog training so she was introduced to high level obedience at a young age. Her family were also first responders and volunteers to local communities. Family and giving back are very important to her! In her spare time, she also competes in protection sports IGP and American Schutzhund with her personal dog, Ezekiel.
My Approach
We are balanced dog trainers! We teach our dogs the basics using rewards that will motivate them. We want our dog to WANT to work with us. Once our dogs have a grasp on we expect, we will use fair, appropriate corrections for disobedience and undesirable behaviors. Teaching our dogs that they must respond to our commands will improve our relationship with them. Balanced dog training focuses heavily on clear, consistent communication; letting them know when they are correct and when they are incorrect.
Learning Phase
This is arguably the most important part of training. Teaching your dog to engage with you, how to learn and what the expectation is. When they to do this, they can learn to do anything! We use lots of motivators to make training fun before making things harder. ‘Yes’ is our most used word in training!

Conditioning phase
Having a way to hold your dog accountable for the boundaries you set in your home will stop chaos in its tracks! We spend this stage of teaching your dog what do you when they feel leash, prong, or e-collar pressures. This is where we build reliability in our commands.

Proofing Phase
This last stage of training is the most fun! We go as many places as we can with your dogs; teaching them to engage and respond to us, no matter the environment! That means hikes, beaches, stores and restaurants to prepare them for all their adventures with you!
